29.09.2001    The team consisting of 53 participants and 5 officials (Mr. Biplob Chatterjee, Leader, Mr. Prodyut Bhattacharya, Climbing Leader) started from Rifle Factory, Ishapore with the greetings of Lt Col MP Sharma, Security Officer and the well wishers to reach Howrah Rly Station. The from Howrah to Chandigarh Rly station by Kalka Mail.

 

30.09.2001    En-route

 

01.10.2001    Reached Chandigarh Rly Station at 0345 hrs. Then started from Chandigarh to Manali by reserved bus at 0700 hrs. Reached Manali at 1800 hrs. Our advace team received the team at Hotel Sangrilla. Advance team reached Manali two days before for arranging of Hotel accommodation, marketing and LAP and HP.

 

02.10.2001    Acclimatisation day for the team. Equipments and geared hired from Mr. Khem Raj Thakur, Director, Mountain Expeditions and our HAP was Mr. Narayan Singh Thakur and Mr. Budhraj Singh of Palchan.

 

03.10.2001    The team started from Manali to Solang by an Army truck got from Army transit camp in the morning. Then expedition started their approach for 1st Transit Camp at Dhundi at 1230 hrs. with packed lunch.

 

                        Trekking team stayed at W.H.M.I. Hotel at Solang.

 

                        Expedition team reached Dhundi at 1630 hrs. in the drizzling rain.

 

04.10.2001        Trekking team started trekking from Solang and reached Dhundi.

 

Expedition team approached to Beas Kund and established Base camp at Beas Kund at 1730 hrs. in continuous rain.

 

05.10.2001        Trekking team stayed at Dhundi.

 

Expedition done load ferry to Camp-I

 

06.10.2001        Trekking team reached Beas Kund at 1630 hrs.

 

Expedition team started their climbing to establish Camp-I at 0930 hrs. and established Camp-I at 1500 hrs.

 

07.10.2001    Expedition team started for Summit. Reached the col of Mt. Ladakhi and Mt. Sritidhar at 1100 hrs. Then climbed through north ridge to the summit of Mt. Sritidhar at 1200 noon. Summitted Mr. Sritidhar.

 

08.10.2001        After successful completion of the TREK-2001 to Beas Kund and Expedition to Mt. Sritidhar, total team returned to W.H.M.I. Hostel at Solang safely.

 

09.10.2001    Stayed at Solang.

 

10.10.2001        In the morning Mr. Rajiv Sharma gave well-wishes to the team and lecture on Himalayan environment. The team left solang to reach Manali at 1000 hrs. and left Manali at 2100 hrs. to reach Shimla.

 

11.10.2001        Reached Shimla in the morning and stayed at Shimla.

 

12.10.2001        Team reached Kalka by narrow gauge train and started for Howrah by Kalka mail.

 

13.10.2001        En-route

 

14.10.2001        Reached Howrah safely.
